Watching 3D films was once an experience that could only be appreciated at theme parks or special IMAX theatres. Recently however electronic manufactures have been hard at work producing cheap and reliable components for a huge range of 3D TVs and projectors. Meaning home cinema enthusiasts can really bring the cinema experience home.

3D films of late have been majorly successful at the box office with films such as ‘Toy Story 3′ and ‘Avatar’ becoming some of the highest grossing films of all time. Due to these successes Hollywood is supporting and pushing the move to incorporate 3D technology across the broad. The growing number of 3D Blu-ray titles and 3D television channels means that consumers are soon to be engrossed with 3D content.

A projector can produce a much larger screen size than any available LCD TV with no loss of quality, also with 3D projectors nothing else comes close to reliving the cinema experience in your own home.

Currently the commercially available technology for 3D is limited by the need for every user to wear a set of 3D glasses. With the glasses the screen is refocused, this gives the illusion of 3D to the wearer. A large group of users begrudge wearing the glasses and sadly there is no quick fix to this issue however, several large organizations are working on 3D TV’s where glasses are not required.

3D projectors are the latest piece of technology that people can buy to complete their home theater setups, but, is it all just a big over priced fad? No matter what you think there are some impressive advantages to owning a 3D TV, making it a must have gadget for 2010.

TV : Plasma or LCD ?

When it comes to purchasing a television, many people find out the hard way. More often than not, people know that they want a large cheap TV. People invariably learn the hard way that there are certain situations where plasma TV is superior to a LCD and an LED TV, or that “inexpensive” doesn’t always mean the best deal, and neither does “expensive.”

The most confusing element for most people when trying to choose a TV is plasma or LCD. LCD TVs are brighter than plasma televisions, and they come with the added advantage of not burning an image into the screen if it is left stagnant for too long – a common problem with plasma TVs. However, LCD TVs are usually more expensive than plasma, which is why this decision is highly situational.

The resolution of a TV is usually referred to either as 720 or 1080. In general, a 1080 TV will be far sharper than a 720. However, it is estimated that most cable companies broadcast in 720; still, DVDs will look far more stunning on a 1080 TV. The downside to 1080 is that it is usually the more expensive of the two, causing many people to have to sacrifice size for a higher resolution.

For many people, the most important aspect of a decision is the size of the television. TVs seem to be getting more and more streamlined; they also seem to be getting bigger and bigger. The size of the television you purchase should fit the room it will be placed in; otherwise, it may look awkwardly large or small. Generally, a 32″ TV is perfect for a bedroom, and a TV 42″ and larger will fit a media room well.
